Explore your destination in stunning 3D with Google Maps
Google Maps is getting a major upgrade with the new Immersive View feature, which lets you see your route in stunning 3D. Immersive View uses computer vision and AI to combine billions of Street View and aerial images into a detailed digital picture that will allow you to see everything you need to know about your route at once. This technology displays all route data at once, such as bike lanes, sidewalks, crossroads, and parking while getting directions. There is also a time slider that shows you how air quality and traffic may change throughout the day.
Immersive View will be available in the summer in the U.S. and will be expanding to fifteen cities by the end of the year. Some of the cities that will benefit from this will be Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Paris, Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose, Tokyo, and Venice.
In addition to making navigation easier and more convenient, Immersive View can also be used for planning trips and exploring new places. With Immersive View, you can virtually walk or drive down a street before you even arrive, giving you a better sense of what to expect. You can also use Immersive View to see inside popular landmarks and attractions, without having to wait in line or pay admission.
Immersive View is a major step forward for Google Maps, and it's sure to make navigation and exploration easier and more enjoyable for everyone.
