It’s 19/2000 something, and you’re in the back seat of the car. You managed to get your hands on a new game, and you’re tearing into that sucker on the way home to play it. You’re about to experience one of the greatest feeling in video games- instruction booklet readin’ time.
If you’re anything like me, this was practically ritualistic as a kid. But with the rise of emulation, digital downloads, and virtual consoles- gamers are missing out on one of the best parts of diving into a new game- reading the manual. With these sweet sweet packets of paper becoming a thing of the past, I’ve got a plan to preserve them… kinda. Or at least bring your attention to them.
Enter: MANUAL OVERRIDE. A quick look and some of my, and your, favorite game manuals. Each video will focus on a new map, poster, manual, or pamphlet that is unique or special in its own way. The second most important thing in your game’s box, is the most important part of this series.
