Perodically I check the Facebook Marketplace for broken Macbooks to acquire in an attempt to fix them up, sometimes you get a win, sometimes not so much.
Today's machine is a 2017 i5 1.8GHz 8GB Macbook Air A1466 with an 820-00165 logic board. The previous owner said that it would just turn off, but sometimes come back, until eventually it wouldn't turn on at all. The unit still charges. My guess heading in to this was that there'll be some corrosion on a cap or control logic.
