An obscure true fact about Animal Crossing is that in the original Japanese version, "Dōbutsu no Mori," one of the villagers, a cat named Blanca, would occasionally appear without a face. Players were given the opportunity to draw a face for Blanca using the in-game design tools. When Blanca visited another player's town via memory card, she would retain the face that had been drawn by the previous player, leading to a variety of creative and sometimes humorous designs being shared between games.
