Factorio is a highly addictive and immersive PC game that combines elements of automation, strategy, and resource management. Developed by Wube Software, it offers a unique experience where players are tasked with designing and building sprawling industrial complexes on an alien planet.
In Factorio, you begin as an astronaut who crash-lands on a resource-rich but hostile alien world. The ultimate goal is to construct a rocket capable of launching you back into space. However, achieving this objective requires careful planning, intricate logistics, and efficient automation.

Anytime I get a new game, I always play the Vanilla version first before I start modding the game. In Episode #1 we configured the game to decrease the number of biters and the attacks. We did this to be able to learn the mechanics of the game and have time to plan out the factory, without getting our rear ends handed to us. We also configured the resource nodes to be moderate in size and richness. It is important to learn the fundamentals of a game and then go back with a defense in mind. Right now, things are slow since we are learning the fundamentals of the game. We start off by checking the map and finding resources close together to begin producing the basics. We located iron, copper, stone, and coal close by and set up the basics to mine the ore and make the barest of essentials, which are iron plates and copper plates. This provides just enough to get going with manual crafting. By the end of the episode we had a boiler and steam engine in place to set up the beginning stages of a power network that can feed electric miners a constant supply of coal.
