If the save feature doesn't work: Close the game. right-click on the program "DS7E.WIN". Properties. Compatability. Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 95. Done.
One person had an issue that even when doing this step, the save feature still didn't work. Their issue was that the game wasn't generating a "SAVE" folder. (probably an admin setting on their end) Just manually make a new folder in folder "DS7E" and rename it "SAVE" and the problem should be fixed.

Unzip. Move all contents into the "SOUND" folder of DS7E_WIN. This will add sound effects from the original Lord Monarch to your game. All SFX have been rebalanced/remixed by me for a more enjoyable experience.

Right Click on "Setup". Properties. Compatability. Find: "Compatibility Mode". Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 95. You're Done. Use "Setup" every time you want to run the game. without doing these steps the save feature will NOT work.)
