FALLOUT 2 / Episode 0 - Intro, character creation and the trials.
Hello, people of Earth!
SOF 2 is out, Fallout 2 is in.
This week, we, kinda, start Fallout 2. By that, I mean that we have technical difficulties, watch the intro of the game (which is still pretty good), do some character creation, and go through the trials (aka the part in old games where you figure out the controls), and stop right when it gets interesting.
Next time, we'll be side-question through the village, to earn enough XP for at least level 3.
What's fallout 2? It's the follow-up to Fallout (deh), and is an isometric 3D (alias not reat 3D but sprites of things turning around), Role-Playing Game, set in an apocalyptic wasteland.
I'm sure most of you have played Fallout 3, New Vegas or 4, maybe some of you (I know some!) have discovered Fallout through the board game (which is the most complicated way to discover it, to be honest). Maybe some of you even still have Fallout 76 installed. I still have it but haven't played it in years...
Anyways, as Fallout 1 is long and stuffy, and Fallout 2 is a 200-play-hours game which is more fun (in the way I remember it, and the way it is written), I'm starting with the second game. Don't worry, I'll do the commentary if and when some reference to the first game comes up.
The good thing about Fallout 2 is that I have finished it multiple times across the years, so I know that it's actually still pretty good and fun, even if it's a 25-year-old game at this point. Which means I could actually marry it and it wouldn't be that weird. Anyways.
Fallout 2 takes place in the south-western United States, about 200 years after nuclear war was fought (in a few hours) and ravaged it. Some people survived by living in the middle of nowhere, some others survived by getting into Vaults (military, Vault-Tec, or other civilian ones). We're a decendant from the Vault Dweller, the hero from the first game who got the boot at the end of the story.
We play as the Chosen One (of course), and we are tasked to go through the wasteland to find the GECK (Garden of Eden Cration Kit) to save our village from certain death (because we're in the middle of a desert wasteland).
So, in the next few weeks, it's gonna be Fallout time. Gonna fight bad guys, look for stuff, go up the ranks of various organizations, and if some of you wondered what the hell were the Hubologists from Fallout 4, you're gonna learn who they are on here.
So that's gonna be it for today, if you like that stuff maybe at some point I'll do a few live episodes so you guys can choose how the story goes.
See you next time.
