So... turns out you can die in build-mode by accidentally setting off a mine. Also... if you fast-travel to a place you've been, it's possible to see NPCs sleeping while standing up in a group like in the movie "I Am Legend". One more thing... after initiating a convo, mobs can still attack, dialogue be damned! Chuck Norris has grown accustomed to his farm being attacked, apparently.
