Famous Soccer Player announces he is Gay
180Former Germany national team member and Premier League player Thomas Hitzlsperger has come out as gay, a move that has been backed by many in the Soccer community, including Lukas Podolski. Hitzlsperger stated "The Olympic Games in Sochi are approaching and I think it needs critical voices who will speak out against the campaigns run by several governments against homosexuals." Hitzlsperger comes out four months into retirement and roughly one year after Robbie Rodgers revealed he was gay.
