Fatal Fury evade and counter system. Certain attacks trigger you or your opponent to evade. Certain characters do not have this at all. If you evade then attack you will get a counter hit that line switches your opponent. If you miss, the CPU switches you.

If you ever play Fatal Fury in vs mode (God forbid) Terry appears to lose his evade completely but Andy and Joe keep theirs

The completely haphazard implementation, or complete lack of in some cases, makes me think this system is a left over from before the game got hugely modified to be more like SF2. Terry's evade doesn't work in 2P mode and some characters have no evade trigger so can't be launched
