175The reason why puzzles are fun is because it's your problem solving skills that allow you to make progress. The variables are laid out in front of you, and all it takes to win is to figure out how they come together. But when a piece is missing, it's no longer about your thinking abilities. It's about searching around your house for that last puzzle piece that you're not even certain actually exists anymore (Was it thrown out? Did the dog eat it?), and that's just busy work that wastes your time.
That is the problem with this chapter. However, it's perfectly capable of being salvaged. The roadblocks are few and far between, and are easily fixable. Once those issues are fixed, the chapter is perfectly fine.
