Maxime is so bulky that I can barely 2HKO him with my biggest nuke, in the form of Devil Axe!Kent. With an accuracy over 115%, he is almost guaranteed to hit anyone not holding an axe.

The alternative scenarios for Jaffar are:
-Not assassinating the fighter during EP 1: Jaffar will attack him again during OP, and the Swordreaver!Fighter will kill him at the next EP with 100% accuracy
-Not assassinating the fighter during OP 1: the fighter will counter and kill Jaffar
-Not dropping someone defenseless next to Jaffar on turn 3 : the rightmost Swordreaver!Fighter will attack his only target available, Jaffar, with 100% accuracy
-Not assassinating the fighter during OP 2: the fighter will try to attack Hector during EP 3 and block one space, preventing him to dodgetank the 2 Swordreaver!Fighters, so one of them will attack Jaffar instead with 100% accuracy

Directly rescuing Jaffar on turn 3 would have been better but wasn't possible due to Ninian facing certain death against Maxime if she was dropped one space further.

This strategy wouldn't be possible without the Purge tome I got at the previous chapter to OHKO the fighter blocking the way on turn 2.

If you are wondering why I am relying on enemy thieves to open chests, it's because my sole Lockpick only has 1 use left.
