inspired by a playthrough of the resident evil 1 remake, we talk a little bit about the history of the playstation's technical constraints that game developers had to overcome - realizing that what looks like a limitation may have actually been the secret to some of the most iconic ps1 horror games' success. we briefly go over the transition from cartridges to cds, loading screens, pre-rendered backgrounds, ps1 hardware specs, and take a moment to think about how all of these factors played into some of the best classic horror games.
