Feudal Japan VR Combat!! Let's Play "Shinobi No Mono" | Quest 2 Gameplay & Review [See Description]
Here's a review summary of what I said during the video, since the mic didn't record my commentary 😭:
Shinobi No Mono is a combat adventure where you set out to avenge your fallen lord.
The graphics are really nice, with some gorgeous sunlight effects and glinting swords. The combat is solid and it's both great fun and a workout to block the sword blows and strike at the perfect moment.
You also have a bow on your back and enemies can be taken out with an arrow to the head (which you can then retrieve afterwards). You also have some shuriken but they're not as lethal and are more of a way to slow enemies down.
You don't have to attack everyone head-on, if you like you can climb on rocks and buildings and sneak your way to the goal instead (but don't expect an easy ride even then, anyone can take you down at any moment, it's very like Dark Souls in that respect).
The soundtrack is very nice with the kind of music and sounds you'd expect from a game set in feudal Japan, it fits the visuals nicely.
In this video I complete the first stage (Aogashima Island) and get pretty far in the Fishing Village level after that too. There are a decent amount of levels on the selection board, so the game will keep you busy for a while (especially with the tough enemies, especially those bow jerks).
Shinobi No Mono is one of the best (and only) VR games set in feudal Japan, so if you have any interest in that theme at all, it's worth your money (the game is cheap too)!
