Part 2/2 is here:    • FF7 PC - 100% SCM Speedrun - World Re...

Streamed live at   / dashretro

Full category: FF7 PC 100% No Slots, No Warps (Turbo, SCM)

Let's break that down:
Final Fantasy 7, Steam version on PC
100% - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q...
No Slots - Cait Sith's Level 2 Limit Break "Slots" is banned
No Warps - Wrong warps are banned
Turbo - I use Steam Input for Turbo functionality on circle meaning I can hold L2 and it auto-mashes circle
SCM - "System Clock Manipulation" refers to the fact that FF7 on PC initializes its "SystemRNG" state by pulling the Unix timestamp of the current system time of the PC as the game boots. From then on, all RNG is controlled by the game. BattleRNG is seeded based on SystemRNG and very little changes SystemRNG between battles, meaning it is possible to create a route of behavior based on a specific initial RNG point (i.e. a certain date/time to boot the game at). This run takes advantage of this and as such is in the "SCM" category. More details in the run commentary itself.
