In this video, we get to see failure. Aside from that we get to see an interesting quirk of the final boss. Usually those mouths appear closer to the end of the battle.

However in this video in only three rounds and with far less damage, the mouths are already open. In short, it's actually a bit random as to when the mouths open.

Although I'm sure the chance increases as it loses more HP and is lower when the HP is higher. Hence why usually the mouths seem to open closer to the end of the battle than the start.
