[FFRK JP] D730 RCD FFXV Ardyn/アーデン (27.75s) And a long "FFRK JP & Me" ramble
first, the video description:
came back for round 2 with literal powercreep (more on that later) - in the 40.5s video prior I was lamenting how the team's damage fell off in Phase 4, which essentially is the result of bringing a party of 4 as I found out subsequently.
I rolled Noctis MA and that's virtually the only upgrade since then, not counting Board squares adding maybe 5-8% damage. The MA alone tears through Space Time and then adds so much multiplier it's making up for the absurd penalty of bringing Sazh instead of Ignis, pretty much locking in the kill at 40k+ a hit (in literally every other fight people with a MA wombo cap at 99,999 easily)
Aranea: Glint+/LBLC/Dyad/DA/UA
Prompto: Glint+/Glint++/Dyad/DA/SA/LBO
Noctis: Glint++/DA/MA/UA
Iris: Glint+/AA/SA
Sazh: AA1*/AA2*/UA/Glint+
AND NOW that aside, lil overall update on how I feel about FFRK and plans moving forward, for all 3 people who care (myself counted)
When FFRK Global ceased operations, I felt it hard because when I started the game in 2015, my 'goal' was to 'kill Kefka', since that seemed to be what the game's progression pointed towards. After a few years of the game evolving to what it became in 2020 and on, it was then obvious that the Realm Dungeon version of the fight really wasn't anything to sneeze about, BUT Japanese FFRK later introduced Realm Crystal Dungeons, which were true endgame versions of the final bosses of each game. Unfortunately, Global also shut down right before we got that fight, and ended with only FF7/FF8's RCDs available.
I started a Japanese FFRK account, spent a little money (lol) and got up to speed because I really, REALLY didn't want to leave things be, and it was right there dangling in front of me.
Eventually I did manage to not only take down that FF6 RCD but score a sub-30 on it about 18 months into the account, while also remaining reasonably end-game with everything else. However, my interest plummeted, as it felt like the game had stagnated in many ways- lab after lab after lab of 'here's more incremental ways to boost your characters', three elemental tiers (Eden, Crusader, Ark) that didn't feel all too different from each other, and new tiers of SBs which were incredibly safe at best, offering sidegrades to beat the new tier.
I've been maintaining these uploads essentially as a way to "keep records" of my FFRK JP journey - some might see use otherwise as a gauge on what power level is necessary to kill stuff (I'm not the best player around by a long shot either, both in terms of theorycrafting nor execution) but others are a sheer walkover via having way more tech than is necessary for the fight. Didn't matter, I wanted to have this version of the game documented as much as possible.
Unfortunately, this was time consuming and like I mentioned, my interest for the game was waning. I figured also that FFRK was possibly on its deathbed and that whenever EoS was announced I'd try to chip away at as much of the remaining content as I could.
HOWEVER, With this fest and the announcement of a new realm tier, better integration of job-based fights and most importantly, a new tier of SB that actually feels like an upgrade again (MAs) I've... actually gotten renewed interest? I guess I'm going to clean up this playlist and add in all the stuff from labs that I may have missed (pushover or not) and then complete my Edens and start working my way through Crusader/Ark and the remaining RCDs.
Who knows, the end may well still be around the corner but my interest is renewed again from the sheer fact that there's a meaningful power upgrade on the horizon along with possibly content to match.
The MA jump is massive. It's more akin to USB-AA than AA-anything subsequent, and that's not just from its sheer power and numbers. It's also in the form of opportunity cost, since +2BDL (that scales upwards) and also another free SB on top of that means ramping up is unbelievably fast, whereas in all the relative sidegrades from dyad-DA-UA-CA by the time you finished casting everything, there was maybe half the duration left.
Anyways, FFRK is back on the menu, lol

This playlist will be ordered this way:
- This video (since it's kind of a milestone, in front so people catch the description of what this even is all about)
- RCDs (preceded by next tier of realm content, whenever that happens)
- Elemental endgame (in descending difficulty order)
- Labs (in ascending order)
