This is not a difficult battle, but he's got a lot of HP, so how can we best deal with that? I say it's time to let some magic do the magic. After all, he's immune to physical attacks except in his Countdown phase. Before this battle, I went through the Ancient Forest and got the Spring Gun Clip for Red, which has a whopping magic bonus of 55, the highest in the game. He also gets the Cursed Ring for 35 more, the Magic Plus Materia and some heavy Summon Materia. In total, this boosted his magic stat to 123! Cloud gets the Apocalypse (+43), Fourth Bracelet (+20) and some more heavy materia for a total of 98. That's not bad either. Trine gives the best value for the MP, so we'll be using that.

All of Diamond Weapon's attacks are magical and they can all be dealt with quite easily. Now that I have the Minerva Band, I can give Fire protection to everyone, as long as I have at least one waifu in the party. Diamond Flash is percentage based and inflicts Silence, but I have Red immunity with Added Effect=Seal. Finally, there's the foot stamp, which we can make sure is always used on Yuffie, since it's always used on the character with the highest HP. Red will get healed by the fire ball, so I made sure his max HP is lower than Yuffie's HP after a Phoenix Down to make this strategy entirely fool proof. Red was also supposed to use Lunatic High to Haste the party at some point, but I forgot.

This is the regular version of FFVII and Hardcore is only the name of the challenge. Rules:
