-Ok so the reason I ran it on ultra settings was just for a comparison with my other system that has a GT 1030 and an i5 2400 + 8gb of ddr3. While the core 2 quad system doesn't have the same amount of ram affecting smoothness at that setting the point is the fps doesn't get anywhere near the levels as it does when paired with the i5.....aka...the Q8400 is a bottleneck.

-full disclosure the identical gt 1030 was not used (i have 2). Not relevant though considering the cpu couldn't get the graphics card under a full load anyway.

-No a stronger gpu wouldn't help.
