Fighting Game Bosses 224. Hyper Street Fighter II - M. Bison boss battle
4Okay, so I've been told that Bison is somehow different in Super Turbo/Hyper SF2, so I decided to check it out and
just kidding, we're fighting Akuma. This piece of shit is one of the hardest bosses I've fought. He is basically a shotoclone, except he's faster than all other characters, hits so hard a single Gou Shoryuken can knock out 1/3 of your health, like you're playing SF1 or some shit. But wait, there's more! He even recovers from hit stun before your attack's recovery ended, then follows up with something painful.
The best moments to attack is when he jumps forward and throws Zankuu Hadoukens - move under the projectiles and attack with 2HP; when he throws a grounded Hadouken - jump over it then j.HK him in the face, then do a sweep to lock him out of counter attacking; when he does Ashura Senkuu - do a sweep or do other attacks that knock him down.
When you play with Ken specifically, for some reason Akuma does not know how to respond, when you miss with Shoryuu Reppa, at which point, if you land near him, you can do a throw that he rarely techs.
All other moments that look like a moment for an attack are risky and he usually retaliates. Worst case scenario, he will nail you with c.HP-Gou Shoryuken and take off about 70% of your life.
And to add insult to injury, I'm playing the English version, where the AI is always on Hardest difficulty, regardless of what you chose in the game's setting, which makes just getting here a pain in the ass, and I don't want to do this ever again.
