Fighting Waves of Enemies In A Deckbuilder Roguelike | The One Who Stands Behind demo
Hello everyone! Here we are with a demo I played around a month ago. This is The One Who Stands Behind, a grid-based deckbuilder roguelike where you have to be protecting your core from the hordes of enemies that come to attack you. A little detail I am not sure of, this is supposed to be a roguelike, but my progress, at least during the demo, was saved the moment I would clear a stage, and if I die, I start from that stage, keeping the previous rewards... So, no idea if the main game will also be like that. Anyways, gameplay, deckbuilding, synergies, most of the stuff here is pretty fun and is pretty unique, so it feels fresh to play, but there are still some issues (makes sense, being a demo). There are a few misstranslations (or maybe just descriptions not well explained), I don't like that, every enemy unit having their own skills, you can't inspect them to see what they do (they tell you during the tutorial, but then you have 5 different and sometimes you want to be sure which unit was the one doing what); and finally, the boss was a mess. I am pretty sure I understood what I was supposed to be doing, but it was acting in a way it wasn't supposed to, making it impossible to win (at least for me). If I understood wrong, then maybe a better explanation would have been appreciated.
Oh, also, I was enjoying my interactions with the other higher being that was with me, and kinda liked how, depending of your answers, he would change the conditions of the battle somehow.
