Final DOOM | Plutonia Experiment [Full Game Walkthrough] (100%)(Ultra-Violence) [2K] (No commentary)
A Walkthrough of Final DOOM : The Plutonia Experiment (1996), played through gzdoom (V4.1.0). Played on the "Ultra Violence" difficulty (HARD). 100% Kills, Items and Secrets! To celebrate Doom's 30th anniversary, I decided to replay all classic doom games and go for 100% of everything.
Plutonia is the second half of Final DOOM. And there is lots to day about this half. It feels like this half was rushed, a lot of maps in plutonia seem like re-makes of doom 2 maps, for example, go 2 it is basically a copy of doom 2's entryway, slayer, neurosphere and a few others I believe. But my biggest problem with this wad is the fact that some maps are impossible to finish with 100%. Anti-christ for example cannot be finished with 100%, well, unless you have like 90 rockets to spare and know where to aim, that arch-ville and chaingunner will never die. Also map 11 the infamous arch-ville maze level, you also cannot get 100% because it's unfair, and trollish in my opinion. If you don't know which teleporter to take... If I was a map designer, I'd make sure that a player can get a 100% on every level. Not to mention the invisible bridges, and unfair traps. What unfair traps? I mean the bs archville only teleporters, in some maps you will get lit no matter what, because there is nowhere to HIDE. Other than that it's alright I guess. ABOUT THE GAME
The Plutonia Experiment is an IWAD released on June 17, 1996, which forms one half of Final Doom (the other half being TNT: Evilution). The old UAC was refunded under completely new management (the previous owners being deceased) and given a new mission: to research tools and technologies that could prevent Hell's resurgence. UAC's scientists began work on quantum accelerator devices, machines intended to close interdimensional gates from a distance. The experiments are carried out in a secret research complex, with a stationed detachment of marines. The work seems to be going well, but...
The creatures from Outside have their dire attention drawn towards the new research. A gate opens in the heart of the complex and unnatural horrors pour out. The quantum accelerator performs superbly — the gate is quickly closed and the invasion stopped. Research continues more boldly.
On the next day, a ring of seven gates opens and an even greater invasion begins. For one hour the quantum accelerators manage to close six of the gates... but the hellish army has become too numerous and too strong. The complex is overrun. Everyone is slain, or zombified. The last gate of Hell remains open, manned and guarded by a demon Gatekeeper.
The government, frantic that the quantum accelerator will be destroyed or used in some evil alien fashion against humanity, orders all marines to the site at once. The Doomguy is close to the site and gets there first. There he concludes that by the time reinforcements arrive that the demons will be too numerous and powerful.
The marine decides to enter the complex and stop the Gatekeeper alone.
