Final Fantasy 15 will have two different styles of combat, or more properly battle modes. Square Enix have said this will be in place of more traditional difficulty settings.

FF as a franchise doesn't tend to have difficulty settings, so more choice for the player in FF15 is definitely welcome. If perhaps you didn't want the fast paced battle system in Episode Duscae, then you have the option of a slower pace.
