After taking out the boss of the Sealed Cave, I backtracked all the way to the beginning and that's when an event kicks in. After the event, I head over to the Castle of Dwarves and talk to the King to trigger the next event that rebuilds the airship.
This part ends outside Mysidia.
Boss tactics:
Have Edge and Cecil attack, make Kain jump and use Virus with Rydia. Try to slow down the boss and use Berserk on both Cecil and Edge with Rosa. Heal when needed. The key to this fight is to try to make as much damage as fast as possible. If the boss would end up really close to your party, he will start one-shooting your party members.
If you're stocked up on Life items, you could easily just keep reviving the characters while attacking with others.
