See, Eiko's weirdness and troubling unchildlike behavior is supposed to help sell how screwed-up she is from her isolation and being raised by moogles and books at best... and it kind of does, but not very specifically! Like I said, I would be a lot less trusting of how this scene is handled in a newer game because it would feel more like it's... indicative of the author's tastes, as it were.

Granted, people has those kinds of gross-person tastes even back in the space year 1999, so maybe that's unfair.
