Omega Mk.II taken care of,now for the other powerful beast. With the sealed door opened,we can now enter an area we've not been in before. There's a single switch you can press here,which drops you to the basement below. It's worth going down there once for the Maximillian armor. Remember to cast Float to get over lava safely,unless you have the Geomancer skills that is. Be wary of enemies here as they're mainly dragon type enemies,include powerful Shield Dragons. Traverse the lava and head through the door to the north,and you'll soon find a lone chest...BOSS FIGHT: Neo Shinryu. If you though Omega 2 was hard,wait till you meet this bastard. Starts the fight by casting Mighty Guard on himself,then he'll likely use Maelstrom to lower everyone to critical HP,or just use Tidal Wave for 8k damage. Coral Rings are the key here like with his brother to absorb water damage,but I only put them on 3 characters,and kept Bartz with haste shoes on. Throw on Mighty Guard ASAP and get those Curagas and Hastegas out quickly,you need as much of an advantage as possible. Now this guy is a bit weird. Sometimes when you attack him he just takes no damage. You have to just keep attacking and hope the attack works. Using Jump with dual Dragon Lances can do 9999 each,but Spellblade Flare and Rapid Fire does solid too,if they actually land that is. Ice Storm is still very deadly and can do over 2k even with Shell on. He can also use Lightning and Blaze on the party. Sometimes counters attacks with Doom or Curse,which can confuse a party member. He loves to counter with Zombie Powder too to try and make people undead. Use Holy Water right as soon as you can to cure that status,you do NOT need your own guys attacking you. Oh and his physical attacks hit like a freight train,and pretty much guaranteed to kill you in 1 hit even with Protect on. To top things off,when he DOES eventually die,he casts Gigaflare first,and then Meteor! So you have to make your HP is high before he dies too! This is easily the most difficult battle in the game,and will likely take several tries to make progress. But test what works for you,and bring the bastard down for good! Barely scraped by with Lenna surviving with 180 HP,phew. x.x You get the mighty Ultima Weapon for beating Neo Shinryu! Don't forget to heal up so you can make it back to the save point. oh I also fought the Guardian boss,but he's nothing compared to the previous bosses. You have to take out his Wave Cannon and Launchers before the core become vulnerable though.
