The party goes through the town of Zozo and climbs Mt. Zozo. At the summit, they find Cyan. He is the true source of the letters being sent to Lola, pretending to be her boyfriend in Mobliz to keep her spirits up. In his latest letter, he confessed to the misdirection but urged her to keep on living life to the fullest. He then rejoins the party.

Gau has returned to the Veldt, so the party goes there, finds him, and recruits him again. Our next order of business is a completely optional dungeon inside of the Zone Eater, a unique enemy that only appears in one area of the map. The dungeon is pretty tough, but the reward at the end is worth it. It's a character named Gogo, who can use up to three of the unique abilities from any other character (e.g. Steal, Blitz). He may not be the absolute strongest at anything, but he's a jack of all trades that provides some great utility.

Next up is a return trip to Narshe to get the magicite of the Esper that started this whole adventure, Tritoch. Mog can also be recruited again here. With him in your party, you can also recruit the very unique Umaro (he's a yeti). Tonberries are pain and death incarnate.
