Final Fantasy VI - No Magicite/No Relic Run - Stream 05 - Part 8
0This is my fifth stream for Final Fantasy VI which was hosted on January 21, 2016 at 0900 EST and went on for roughly three hours before stopping.
My goal is to find out how hard the game is to beat without using Magicite which grants the ability for all characters to learn every spell and acquire stat boosts upon each level up. To add more misery to pain, I am denying myself Relic (or accessories) which also grant boons to characters in battle and can sometimes break the challenge of the game.
Since this is a echo of a Twitch stream, there are going to be some technical issues such as missed frames and dropped sequences due to bandwidth issues as well as audio level inbalances, most should be eliminated by now however. Despite this, please forgive those and enjoy the playback!
In this 9-part stream, we reach the Sealed Gate only to have Kefka following us, releasing crazed Espers into our world who promptly set fire to the Empire capital, Vector. We travel to Vector to arrange a peace treaty with the Empire and join forces to end this war and travel to the backwater continent of Crescent Isle. We discover that the village of Thamasa is home to the descendants of the Magi and we meet Santa and his granddaughter Iris who can use special magic. We travel to a nearby cave and explain to the Espers that the war has ended only to have Kefka show up once again and not only kill but retrieve all their powers. The Emperor re-opens the Sealed Gate and uproots the entire continent housing the gate up into the sky. We sail forth in Gambit's airship to reach the island but are attacked enroute.
