This is my first time ever playing a Final Fantasy game. I never liked the slow pace of combat in the earlier games, but this combat has layers if you want to improve.
It's about time a game developer put shortcut button prompts in a game that either would require you to select in the menu.
Imagine if Dues Ex Mankind Divided had this brilliant tiny detail in the game. To consume energy cells on the fly!! Developers take notes!!!

I barely use the commands menu but when I do I mainly use it for the esthetic appeal of slowing time down mid fight.
I don't like standing around, I like keeping the action always going 100% throughout the whole fight. That means switching between enemies on the fly & executing different stylish moves consecutively. In order to do this you have to be able to to identify cause & effect. "What happens when I press this button. Okay now what happens if I mix this with this" ect. Once you established everything there is to know you then start thinking of new ways to implement all these crazy moves consecutively.
