Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Part 19.20.a GRINDER INTERLUDE
Grinding, less for levels (the game level scales) and more for getting the parts I need to upgrade weapons. I think in my original playthrough, played by plugging the composite video and left audio jack into an old VCR and tuning the TV to channel 3 (TV didn't have AV inputs, only RF, VCR was mono and actually didn't work for anything but browsing TV channels and AV input, you kids these days all have big screen HDTVs and HDMI and never have to worry about such things), almost everyone was stuck with the starter weapon.
Still not following any guides. I play the game to play the game, not follow along with an "optimized playthrough" guide like what seems to be the big trend these days. I can get picking up a walkthrough to help get through a spot you're stuck on or just getting frustrated and wanting to get past, but I cannot fathom the idea of doing an entire playthrough by only following someone's guide on how to "most optimally minmax and do everything perfectly". I knew someone who did just that for every game he played, so this isn't just seeing trends that aren't there.
