Upgrading luck is useless. Why? Here you have some good points:

-Magic animations are time consuming
-Dark Aeons and all monster arena bosses (with the exception of this one) can be beaten without magic
-You have to repeat this battle a lot of times in order to get 255 magic, and you don't have a faster way than this

Note: Anima needs a minimum of 150/160 magic to deal 99999 damage with pain (non physical and non elemental attack, magic based)
