Current situation: On the way to Bevelle, it's discovered that fiends have snuck onto the airship. Evrae, the guardian wyrm of Bevelle, is sighted just outside the airship. The party fights it off as the ship approaches its destination. They charge into Bevelle to crash Seymour and Yuna's wedding. Maester Kinoc is ready for their attack, and corners them. Yuna uses the distraction to try to send Seymour, but Mika convinces her to stop, threatening their friends' lives if she doesn't. The ceremony continues, and Seymour gives the order to kill the party as soon as it finishes.

Yuna creates a distraction by jumping off a ledge, using one of her aeons to fly to safety. Rikku uses a flash grenade, allowing everyone to escape to Bevelle Palace, a temple containing a Fayth. To Wakka's surprise, the temple is full of forbidden Machina. After passing the cloister of trials, Tidus decides he's done with Yevon's taboos, and breaks into the chamber of the Fayth to find Yuna as she merges with the Fayth. They come out to find themselves surrounded by Kinoc and his goons, who take them into custody and put them on trial.

Maester Kelk Ronso presides over the court. Yuna tells him of Seymour's treachery, saying that he's already dead, and requesting that maester Mika send him. Maester Mika reveals that he too is dead and unsent, and the maesters prefer it that way. Yuna and her friends are declared traitors to Yevon, and sent into the Via Purifico, a watery underground prison.

Yuna ends up in one area with Auron and Kimahri, while the rest are elsewhere. They manage to make their way to an exit, where Isaaru is waiting. He's under orders from Maester Kinoc to stop her from leaving. The two have an aeon battle, with Yuna emerging as the victor. Tidus's group fights its way through a waterway and meets up with the rest. Seymour shows up, with a freshly-murdered Kinoc. He claims that through death, he can save Spira, and asks Yuna once again to come with him to Zanarkand. Kimahri goes on the attack, buying everyone else time to escape.
