As I found out on the last fight, First Strike can let you squeeze in an extra attack and only get hit once. He's the choice Dark Aeon to fight if you want Ribbon armors because it sure as hell beats farming the Monster Arena.
The fight's over quick enough that a dead character isn't a problem. No need to heal, revive, or remove petrify. Just remember that old cheerleader line and be aggressive.
