Previously, Heorot carried out the quest "The Bare Bones" in Bastok to earn the Dangruf Wadi map. Then, he carried out Bastok Mission 1-2: "A Geological Survey" for good ol' Cid. Finally, he got up to Red Mage Level 13 in North Gustaberg. Now, he will venture a little farther to the Konschtat Highlands for some more training.
Heorot resumes at his Mog House in Bastok. His stack of Wind Crystals sold on the auction house, so now he has some more gil. Yay! He exits to the Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 0:53):
Heorot uses the nearby Home Point to teleport to the Bastok Markets.
Bastok Markets (time 1:13):
In the markets, Heorot goes out to South Gustaberg via the West Gate.
South Gustaberg (time 1:50):
Heorot goes west through South Gustaberg to the Fumaroles. There, he turns north and takes the exit to North Gustaberg at E-7/E-6.
North Gustaberg (time 5:02):
Heorot continues north through the western valley of North Gustaberg. Near the exit to the Konschtat Highlands, he finds a banner at E-7. Similar to Outposts, you can talk to the conquest officer posted at a banner to set your home point. You have to pay a fee if the officer is from a different nation. If the officer is from your nation, there is no fee, and you can get Signet cast on you. Unfortunately, if no nation is in control of the region, no services are available. Konschtat Highlands is definitely more dangerous than North and South Gustaberg, so Heorot sets his home point here.
Then, Heorot heads north to Konschtat Highlands in the Zulkheim region at E-7.
Zulkheim: Konschtat Highlands (time 9:07):
Welcome to the highlands. These hills are definitely not alive with the sound of background music, which is a pity. The entrance from North Gustaberg leads to the Aulgung Pass, a narrow mountainous pass with a couple of small open areas. The northern section of the Konschtat Highlands is more open. The primary danger in the highlands is from the second-tier Goblins and Quadav. First-tier Goblins and Quadav also make an appearance. Elementals come out during inclement weather. They aggro to magic usage, and they are extremely dangerous to teen-level characters. When you can deal with them, though, they drop crystal clusters. Konschtat Highlands experiences lightning storms and dust storms.
It is a fair trek northwest to the Field Manual at F-11. Heorot takes on the training regime from Page 3 to defeat 3 Rock Eaters and 3 Mist Lizards in the highlands.
Then, he goes to the open area in the east of Aulgung Pass. He takes out some Mist Lizards on the way. In the open eastern area of Aulgung Pass, Heorot find Rock Eaters and Quadav in addition to the lizards. He can find some decent upgrade gear in the locked coffers, notably Level 16 Bone gear. By the way, Mist Lizards link, so be careful.
By the end of the video, Heorot reaches Level 15 as Red Mage. Next time, he will explore the Konschtat Highlands a bit.
Thanks for watching!
