Yup, new game that I'm uploading videos on is indeed FFXIII. Why? Why not. I'm a little late to the party on this, but bare with me, I had to do a second playthrough of it to record all the bosses. Unfortunately, the first couple bosses are rather boring, but then again that's usually the case with all RPGs. Not sure if I'll upload ALL of the boss fights in a row, but we'll see.

YT kinda toned down the quality on this video for some reason, I'll see what I can do about it for other ones. But make sure you're watching it in 480p (like you should all my videos). Then it's not so bad in full screen. I like how it actually widescreened though, that was a surprise. Tell me how the quality looks though, cuz from my end the original one looks better than what YT did with it xd.

I skipped the very first fight you are forced to do. Even though the boss music plays for the first half of the fight, I don't really consider it a boss fight. So this fight will count as Boss #1. I also left in the scenes before and after the fight.

*Boss*
PSICOM Marauder x1 & PSICOM Enforcer x2

*Overview*

Yup, first boss fight in the game. Really easy stuff. The game gives you an optional tutorial on attack chains and staggering. I very highly suggest viewing ALL the tutorials this game has to offer. It's very easy to be overwhelmed by the battle system in this game, as many parts of it are required to know about to making bosses beatable, such as staggering, as you'll see from this fight.

1/5

Sazh: Strength: 24, Magic: 26, HP: 220

**Strategy**

Not much of a strategy here. This is the first actual boss fight in the game. Target the lackeys first. They'll die pretty fast. I'd use Blitz with Lightning, to do damage to the enemies around.

Once both lackeys are down, you have the main boss to deal with. He attacks rather fast, but it won't really matter much. This is where knowing how Attack Chain and Staggering comes into play. Each enemy and boss have a Chain Gauge. When it fills up, they go into Stagger, where they'll take over twice as much damage and every attack you hit them with may stop them from attacking. This lasts until the stagger bar depletes. Generally, queing different attacks at once helps fill the Chain Gauge faster. However, since this is very early on in the game, I wouldn't worry about it now.

Now that you know how greatly useful staggering an enemy is, stagger the boss and then watch as his HP drains ridiculously fast and take him out for the easy win. Use a Potion or two if you need to. Don't be afraid to blow potions, you get plenty of them, and they become obsolete eventually.
