How to find out if your CPU will work with your motherboard and RAM!
We often get asked if a certain (CPU) Processor will work with a particular Motherboard, and what Overclocks will they be able to get out of the RAM, And to be honest you could find out the answers much quicker with a quick Google search!
For example will a Athlon 200GE work out of the box with a MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX?
Simple answer is YES it will! , Simple because I Googled it for you :-)
Long answer is that you will need to go to the manufacturers website and do some fact finding.
First go to the website for the motherboard and look for the support section, if here you will find a QVL which is a qualified vendors list, this is a list of all the components that have been tested and validated to work on the motherboard.
Also you can check if the RAM you are looking to buy is suitable. You will be able to check the serial number or part number in the list and see if it supported and if it will work at the XMP profile speed ratings.
This can all be a bit scary at first but if you are willing to spend a lot of money on hardware you really should do some ground work and you might even enjoy the experience of selecting all your own hardware for you build.
