Saves around 15 seconds and failing it is no where near as bad as failing the old skip which could lose nearly 25 seconds if you failed that skip.
Not that difficult. The swing to the platform is fairly easy and the final jump is hard but not too hard.
Note: This does not work in the GameCube version or any Japanese versions.
I also used a camera and not my cap card because I'm lazy.
