Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Maniac Mode Chapter 17 in 2, 2, 10, 1 turns
0I know some of my viewers like seeing girls in the thumbnail, so this time, I went with an image that appeals to my furry fans.
The key to LTCing this chapter is to know the unit position mechanics (see here https://www.fireemblemwod.com/fe9/guia/ENG_cap17.htm). While you can pick where you want your unit to be in 17-1, in the others, you cannot reposition, and positioning is determined based on the order of your units in 17-1 in the unit selection screen. Makalov the loser actually saves a turn here; with the Statue Frag, he has enough weight to be able to carry untransformed Mordecai, enabling a 2 turn of 17-2. Also, Astrid promotes without a single point of bexp thus far. I don't think I'll be giving her any this entire playthrough.
I made a small mistake at the end of 17-3 where I forgot/didn’t pay enough attention to my notes to move Mist and have her use Physic on someone else. She got attacked by a fighter and fortunately dodged. I really didn’t want to record this again (since it’s a 10 turn defense map) just to get Soren 11 more exp and Boyd a slightly better level up, so enjoy the slightly imperfect clear! On the bright side, I got so much exp for both Boyd and Astrid that I’ll have bexp to spare by the start of 23, even after getting Mist to promotion (Soren took my Master Seal). I could use that either to boost Reyson’s bulk or get Lucia up to speed, having her play the role I intended for Mia to play. Lucia’s stats are truly atrocious though; 15 str and 10 def at level 12 promoted!
I just realized that I made a potentially major mistake in Chapter 15: you can in fact, with more rigging, use the thieves to steal 1 use Laguz Stones in 15, which is super handy for Reyson. That’s something I never noticed in my LTC playthroughs previously (and I've been LTCing FE9 for 11 years) until today. Right now I only have access to Mordecai’s 2 use Laguz Stone. However, I went through all possible strats and it looks like I only really need it in 18, so I’m going to go ahead and continue the playthrough without redoing 15. I'm pretty sure it'll be ok.
