Fire Mumblem by MarkyJoe1990 [Episode 1: Not Another Mod!]
I figured that since I don't have the commentary for Chapter 10 of Fire Emblem 5 fully recorded yet, I'd make some footage on Fire Mumblem instead.
For those who don't know, Fire Mumblem is the Fire Emblem hacking project that I have been working on. It parodies many problems found in poorly designed hacks. Of course, one's view of what's a bad fire emblem hack and what isn't varies from person to person, so this hack reflects my own views rather than the general consensus in the FE hacking community.
The adventure starts with Eliwood discovering that he's in a bad fire emblem hack and summoning Hector, Lyn, and Nino (How he does this is never explained) to aid him in defeating the hack. They all agree to work together, and chance upon the first boss of FE7, Batta the Beast, now more beastly than ever. Then the chapter begins.
This chapter is somewhat psychologically frustrating, mainly because of the bonus tasks. If you want to get them all, you must visit all the villages on the map and defeat Batta (Who is entirely optional). The goal of the map is to survive for 13 turns, meaning you only have 13 turns to accomplish all of this. This often makes me want to rush the chapter instead of playing well, even though 13 turns is actually plenty of time to accomplish everything.
If you manage to survive 13 turns and you haven't defeated Batta, he'll just get bored and leave, giving you an automatic victory.
Now for the characters.
Eliwood isn't really established as anything in this hack outside of being a lord with a sarcastic attitude. Obviously, he's not in character to his FE7 counterpart, who is more naive and sentimental. Growth wise, Eliwood has pretty balanced growths, similar to the original game. However, overall, his growths are worse. This applies to both Lyn and Hector as well.
Hector's character has become a lot more laid back. He's still Eliwood's best friend too. Stat wise, he's been gimped. A LOT. His base stats have mostly been lowered, sans strength, and his growths are more specialized and off-balanced.
Lyn got the worst gimp out of the three lords, though, her base stats were buffed tremendously. Despite this however, her growths are terrible; she won't come anywhere close to maxing her strength, ever. However, since Lyn starts with the best base stats, and comes with two weapons that only she can use, she is still very usable until later on in the game.
Nino got both buffed and nerfed. Unlike in the original game, where she joined VERY late, she now joins on the very first chapter. Her base stats and growths are gimped however, but she's still a decent unit.
Oh yeah, you've probably noticed that the palettes on the characters are different. I did that just cause... I felt like it. Also, thanks to Seph1212, I was able to remove that annoying crown thing that Eliwood normally wears. He looks great without it.
