From the outset, the game lacks clear objectives, offering no tutorial or guidance on what to do next. The controls are non-standard, with only movement being intuitive, making it difficult to interact with the environment or understand the game's mechanics. Most creatures flee upon approach, leaving interactions feeling sparse and unfulfilling.
While the game boasts a vast open world and a narrative inspired by true events, these elements are overshadowed by the lack of player onboarding and unclear gameplay direction. The atmospheric setting and mythical undertones have potential, but the current state of the demo makes it challenging to appreciate these aspects.
If you're considering trying out FIRE: The First Dreamer, be prepared for a steep learning curve and a need for patience. Hopefully, future updates will address these issues and provide a more engaging experience.
