How's it going everyone, in this RPG Maker MV First Impression video we take a look at a game by EventHorizon called Aeontale. This game has a real rough start with too much dialog, cut-off sentences, spelling errors, and grammar issues. If we put all of that aside, this is really a fun game. The map design is very labyrinthine, but that fills in the puzzle section of the game. The game didn't appear to have any complex puzzles, but the maps themselves are the puzzles, and that's why I consider this game mapped decently well. The sprite work and art assets have been customized quite a bit, and the iconset fits really well. The menu itself feels very different and that's a good thing. It's missing some quality of life things I enjoy in RPG like a better status menu,(YEP_StatusMenuCore) so we can see our hit rate and other stats. ((How will I ever know if the sword has more accuracy than the axe?)) (((Vital info))) ((((obvious sarcasm))))(((((or is it?))))));

Anyway, this game has a well balanced combat system, with solid action sequencing, and a few fully customized animations. Some lightly changed animations, but the work on the sound design (MV animation editor) has been done well. Most of the enemies had one or more custom skills, but the boss was lackluster. This is a defining moment and you need to carpe diem on that. (Think Whelk from FFVI)

I can safely recommend this game to people who enjoy good battle systems, and don't mind when the story is bad (for one reason or another). If you're looking for a good story, there might be one here, but it's buried under all the spelling and grammar errors. The fact that every other line of text gets clipped doesn't help any either. So play this game for the battle system and progression.
