Aether takes a lot of what makes the recent influx of "survivors" games so popular, and adds a bit of bullet-hell and action roguelite to form a pretty fun time. Exploring a big open world map while clearing out enemies, leveling up, upgrading skills, but having to actually aim and use your skills at the right times. It's quite refreshing.
