First Look: Paragon (Beta)
3Paragon is a new third person MOBA from Epic Games. Built using the Unreal 4 engine, it makes some changes to the established MOBA formula. The map in Paragon includes a large amount of vertical elements as well as a complex jungle. In addition, there is no traditional equipment shop- the game instead relies on a deck building system.
Epic has made an effort to add a skill based element to the game, meaning that you must aim all basic attacks and abilities in order to hit. Splash damage is also a factor, and positioning becomes key.
I have been playing Paragon since the early alpha. The game has changed significantly, but I have many reservations about it. In this video we'll take a look at the basic gameplay systems of Paragon, explore two characters with very different playstyles and talk about the positives and negatives of the deck building system that Epic has implemented in the game.
