Developed for Playstation and Sega Saturn, FIST is an infamous fighting game developed by Genki and published by Imagineer in 1996. It is deemed one of the worst 3D fighting games ever spawned and is a spiritual successor or third title in the "Pretty Fighter" or "Seifuku Densetsu Pretty Fighter" series (due to the inclusion of returning main characters, Marin Aoki, Ai Momoyama, and Maria Christel). The game is hammered for good reasons, due to its sloppy gameplay and hit detection, extremely limited (and copied) character movesets and animations (right down to everyone having the same idle pose), nonsensical design (such as many characters not looking remotely like their illustrations, Maria probably being the worst offender). and odd premise (fighting male and female idols who want to spread joy and happiness but must defeat each other in combat to sweet jams and love songs... okay).

I can only presume that FIST is an acronym for something about idols (as this is what the game is about) but since the game has virtually no plot (other than what's in English on the case and a small excerpt in the manual), I don't really know. The game is essentially a much worse version of the original Virtua Fighter without rings (and thus no ring outs) with terrible enemy A.I. (who are easy after the first few rounds but then become cheap to the point where they can only be somewhat effectively subdued with timed jump attacks) and decent (but strange) music. The game comes with a mini-disc with a few unused tracks (like a song) and each character has a few ending illustrations, but the game is terrible and feels more like a tech demo than a finished product. I do not recommend it. The English plot/selling point is as follows:

"WHEN YOU PLAY TO FIST YOU JUST CAN'T STOP THAT HEART FROM POUNDING. IT'S A FEELING YOU'VRE NEVER EAPERIENCED BEFORE. A PLACE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN. A THRILL LIKE WANDERING THROUGH ANOTHER DIMENSION. AND IT'S ALL FULL OF A LOVE THAT'S DIFFERENT FROM THE UNBEARABLE REALITY. IS THIS A DREAM OR AN ILLUSION? WARP SPEED TO THEIR WORLD AND IT OUT RIGHT NOW!"
