Why is your Synology not completing scheduled backups?
Why is Active Backup not creating snapshots?
Why are synology snapshots not found?
All these are good questions, and probably easily answered by changing this simple Windows setting.
Synology active backup for business uses the technology inside the Windows operating system to create backups of your data. The system is part of the Windows System Restore and VSS or snapshots system.
Therefore if Windows can't create a snapshot for some reason then Synology can't use that snapshot data to create your backup or system image.
If you go into the System restore or system protection centre and make sure it is turned on and you have given enough room to store the snapshots, that should fix the Synology code 21 snapshot error for good.
