Black 1 kVA APC Smart-UPS units are probably the best UPSes you can get for your desktop PC; they're fanless, alarmless if you so desire, versatile when used with Apcupsd, reliable and (in my opinion) very good-looking.

The Powerwares in this video are also very good units, above all, they have a FAR superior battery charger compared to most APC units. However, the power failure alarm can't be turned off in software, and the software they ship with can't measure up to Apcupsd.
