The general strategy I would follow is try and stay in the sky as much as possible so you can ride the dragon. I know I failed this in my video but meh.
Make sure to try and get the gold gems to keep your multiplier up until you get a superman/dragon.
Supermans and dragons will be your main way to bump up the multiplier, also use supermans to get up to the sky.
Don't feel bad about getting struck by lightning because when you have x50 combo getting 1mil score is a doddle.
