I did not make this video game it is called Towerfall Ascension. I also did not make any of the sound effects in the video those are from the video game. What is going on here is that I overlaid my own music on top of this game as a demonstration. Every time the game is paused, the music changes. This isn't implemented into the code of the game, but it hypothetically could be done with FMOD. I am still learning how to use FMOD and I don't know integration stuff yet, so I recorded the video twice and did the changes manually along to the video. The gameplay is provided by me I am the one playing the game. The tab in the corner is a look at the FMOD software. I created two layers of the same track and there is a parameter that allows them to seamlessly swap between one another. Both pieces of music are the same general composition, just vastly different instrumentation and using different effects like bit-crushing and EQing n stuff.
