It seems like lots of folks have come out of the woodwork recently to sing the praises of the Thunderscan (a clever device transforms a printer into a scanner) by Thunderware. I was lucky enough back in the day to have had a chance to play around with the Thunderscan... and while slow... it absolutely delivered on the promise of inexpensive scanning, and is largely to thank for the desktop publishing revolution reaching as many folks as early as it did.

I figured that since you have to strike while the iron is hot, I'd get some V.O. practice and read Andy Hertzfeld's wonderful Folklore.org article about the topic:
