For F##k sake quote the Highway Code correctly if your a horse rider.
15This is dashcam footage of a particularly obnoxious horse rider, she obviously was having a bad day, I have driven on these country roads for over 20 years, and living in the country-side you encounter horse riders on your journey. Everyone I have come across I have always been mindful and given them space, they in return have been courteous and grateful, however on this occasion these particular riders were not, and in particular the one that brought up the rear. These are the type of riders that give other horse riders a bad name.
If someone is going to quote a piece of law at me, please have the common courtesy and sense, also some intelligence would help too, read up on the piece of law you are quoting before you open your mouth, it stops you coming across as a patronising self-righteous idiot in the process.
FACT: The minimum distance is 2 metres and not 3 metres, you obviously do not know your distances, also that rule or law applies to cars passing horses on the road and not when stopping to let them pass on a narrow country road, in this situation the driver is asked to pullup if possible at the nearest passing spot. Horses DO NOT HAVE RIGHT OF WAY, its common courtesy for each party concerned to be mindful of each other.
This incident happened on Nettlestead Road around 17.41 on 17/10/2023 halfway up that incline, the locals will know where I mean.
I do hope that this rider see's this video and actually gets their facts right before opening their mouth in future. I have been driving since 1984, and I believe that I have a fair understanding of the High Way Code, having lived in the country side and also knowing people who own and ride horses I have familiarised myself with the correct etiquette and common courtesy around horse riders when encountering them on the road. Don't expect all car drivers to be as patient or courteous as me on the road.
Fact: There are three brains involved in this situation, The Driver, The Horse and The Rider, in this situation the rider had not fully engaged theirs. If anyone see's this video and knows who that rider is please get them to report me to the police for not observing the High Way Code, obviously. I have everything on DashCam as evidence.
